I got my first camera when I was 8. Fisher Price, classic 90s. I've been taking photographs ever since.

I started off photographing abroad for NGOs (non-governmental organizations & nonprofits) in Uganda after college and then moved to Colombia. I received a Masters in the UK from the London School of Economics and moved to Sierra Leone, taught in Spain and have spent a lot of time in northern Peru.

Living back in Florida, I work for national news outlets (like The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Atlantic). You can explore my editorial work at www.charlottekesl.com.

I absolutely love documentary photography and can’t wait to capture your real life & real love. No need to fake it.
